For the first time, AFP will be present at one of North America's premier events dedicated to innovation.
Under the overarching theme of 'Shaping the Future of News Media in the AI Era', AFP played a prominent role at the 75th World News Media Congress in Copenhagen from May 27th to 29th.
On the third and final day of the World News Media Congress, organised by WAN-IFRA in Copenhagen, AFP Chairman and CEO Fabrice Fries participated in a session titled "Learning from Disruptors."
The segment showcased non-traditional media companies that have successfully challenged established norms. Despite the theme, Fries made it clear that AFP remains committed to its traditional values, rooted in the agency’s origins dating back to 1835.

On Thursday the 9th of May, ADEPA(Asociación de Entidades Periodísticas Argentinas) and AFP held a virtual training workshop entitled "Introduction to digital investigation".
The workshop focused on the work of journalists specialising in digital investigation, disinformation, the challenges of artificial intelligence, effective Internet research and tools for finding the origin of a video or photo circulating on the web.

AFP's Jakarta bureau opened the photo exhibition ‘Road to Paris 2024’ on Thursday, 25th April, ahead of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, in partnership with the French Embassy in Jakarta, the French Institute and Decathlon.
Based on the theme of sport and the French-Indonesian relationship, 50 photos will be on display until 8th September at the French Institute in Jakarta, as well as on the walls outside the French Embassy in the Indonesian capital and Decathlon shops across Indonesia.
